Clinical Observation of Ankle Instability

Abstract
Mechanical instability of the ankle is a major cause of chronic functional instability in athletes. Furthermore, the greater the degree of mechanical instability, the more likely it is that the patient will experience functional instability or recurrent severe sprains. The goal
as orthopedic surgeons is to return the injured individual to a fully functional status without "weak ankles".
We were reviewed the three cases of ankle instability in volley ball players which were treated recently by reconstructive surgery in our hospital and we resulted that the initial management of ankle sprain is very important, espicially in young athletes.
